These sophisticated little clay mushrooms replicate the magical mushrooms we find in the forest while foraging on a morning hike, or maybe one catches our eye nestled in the grass as we bike by. Mushrooms with their soft, intricate details are so captivating. The thoughtfully formed stem leading up to the delicate gills, with lovely little caps brings a bit of whimsy to any day.
Made by hand, as a collaboration with my dear friend, @heatherspiel we hope these clay mushrooms are as delightful to you to have in your homes, as they were for us to make them. Hopefully they’re a reminder of happy days in the woods and hikes through the forest collecting acorns, berries or mushrooms, telling us to seek the magic in this beautiful world!
These mushrooms have gone through the process of being hand-sculpted, carved, and fired in a kiln twice, with an additional firing for gold luster.
Seconds on mushrooms have visible flaws but will still function properly as a mushroom!! The flaws are underneath the mushroom cap, where the stem connects. They've been repaired in the bisque, or first firing, and are a white line, visible only from underneath the mushroom.
For more photos with identifying series, see hyacinth ceramics instagram stories. These photos go in order of each set, individual photos of the mushrooms in each set, and then a new group photo, followed by individual photos, etc. Hopefully it's not too confusing!
